p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Canon 60D - Any experience with L plates (brackets)?

I'm up late researching my (hopefully soon) conversion of tripod heads and gear to arca swiss clamps and plates.

My current crop body is the Canon 60D - with the articulating LCD. I see that RSS only offers a base plate and not their L-plate for this camera - probably because of blockage/interference with this LCD screen.

I also see component L-brackets from Kirk (gripped and non-gripped) and similar (cheaper) L-brackets from ProMediaGear - also gripped and non-gripped.

Does anybody have experience using any of these L-plates with this articulating screen? To block this screen in either portrait or landscape mode when mounted to a tripod would negate a significant benefit of having such a flexible screen. FWIW, I am considering purchasing both cropped and non-cropped plates as we'll occasionally travel light (sans grip).

Thought I'd check for others' experiences - before blundering ahead - with Blind Faith!

Thanks...

I've got a RRS L plate on my 60D. It does interfere somewhat with the screen but I work around it. I can open the screen all of the way but then it won't tilt if I open it to about 140 degrees it will still tilt. I find it well worth being able to change from landscape to portrait
