Most outdoor markets are wonderful settings for shooting.
And way out in Siberia the apparent paranoia of the citizens was much less than in Moscow- so asking for permission to photograph people was without strain. Especially to take pictures of kids.
My shooting "style" for this kind of travel photography was basically to be speedy- before anyone became uncomfortable- especially the children.
After getting the okay nod from mama, I found the perspective I wanted, zoomed for composition, and shot.
Because it was an old 35mm manual camera- I always preset the exposure before asking permission.
So the whole thing took less than 30 seconds. Often much less.
