I snapped a shot of these bioluminescent jellyfish at an aquarium tour in Europe using my S95, which was handily in my pocket at the time. These are shot through the glass in a dimly lit tank.

I have 2 major areas I'm curious for feedback:
-- overall color processing
-- BW conversion

Color:

B&W:

I prefer the color processing but perhaps you could compromise and decrease the saturation.

Hard for me to speak to the color. I think it is probably dependent on the lighting.
I prefer the BW. But both suffer from low contrast, clarity related to the water and shooting through the glass. Also, a matter of taste, but I find the amount of bubbles and artifacts from the glass detract.
Here is your BW conversion with additional and somewhat aggressive bump in clarity, sharpness, contrast with some curves work and removal of some of the bubbles/imperfections. I added a small amount of vignette and burnt some of the background. Set black and white points, crushing some of the blacks for more depth in the water.

Thanks for the ideas, Scott. I like what you did with it, especially the extra pop from the contrast/curves improvement. I hadn't thought much of the stuff in the water, it indeed looks better cleaned up.

Time to go play with it more.
