I have the opportunity to upgrade my bhd2 and while I certainly cant say I love the ball head but I dont hate it either. My only real problem is that when it locks down it has to slide into some kind of hidden slot (if that makes sense), I think because its an odd shaped ball.

I saw a review by a reputable reviewer that compared to the really right stuff bh line, and gave it a favorable review.

I will mostly be using this for close up photography standard slow shutter speed stuff.

I was thinking about an acratech too. Just not sure if there is a big enough difference between it and my Induro.

I really would like to shell out no more then $300 and it has to be available on amazon.

For a little more money look at the Markins Q10i or the RRS BH-40. It's better to go all the way and do it right.

that's right, different product and market level.

why must it be sold on amazon or should I dare ask?
