p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Challenged myself a bit with and older camera body (More BE)

Went out yesterday with two cameras in hand, a Nikon D7100 which is my normal birding camera body and my older Nikon D70s which is a camera I use to teach my son about photography.

Two things stuck out at me, first was the viewfinder. It seems much smaller than the viewfinder of the D7100. This made it more difficult to find eagles and other birds when using it. Second was the obvious difference in pixel density. I normally shoot with a short lens so I rely a bit on cropping. Much less cropping room with a 6MP sensor.

Here are some of the results from the D70s.

Still got some nice shots...from time to time I'll pull out the D70...I know what you mean though about the viewfinder and having to work with 6mp...I still remember how thrilled I was when it came out.

Beautiful set and very sharp pictures, the exif shows 280mm, what lens are you using?

Thanks...there are a lot of older buildings over there.

Here is a wider shot of the area.
