Sorry I'm so late answering the question.
Because of the lifting and folding geologic action during Continental Drift, many of the southwest's sandstone layers were turned almost 90-degrees. Erosion in places shaped them into fins- a common term in many parts of the SW.
This is a small area- so "Little Finland.")
I'm not sure if it has an official name.
