Snowy Owl Close-Up & Fill Flash, New England
I told Kathryn on the plane that my goal was to create a close-up photograph of a Snowy Owl.
As we walked down the beach with two other friends on day four, I decided to climb the dunes and scout ahead. Sure enough... There was this young male ahead of us. But there was a little problem.... Our friends had their gear but WE HAD NO GEAR as it was supposed to be a "scouting" hike.
I sent our two friends ahead and let them at least get something out of this opportunity as we hiked back to the car. They were pretty close to this owl by the time we got back, this time with our gear. I knew he would let me get crazy close at that point.
Sure enough, I was able to create the image I had in mind since the very beginning!
Overcast and somewhat "warm" but yet again... fill flash saved the day!
