I have an old D100 but the sensor is bad. I would like to keep it as a backup. Is it worth getting a new sensor? Is it easy for me to do it? Don't want to pay Nikon $300-$400. Or just sell it for parts?

Thanks,

sell as parts. I think they go for maybe $100-$120. Also, good luck replacing the sensor yourself

with the cost of a new sensor.. you could probably pick up a d200 or d300 and have that cost offset by selling the d100 for parts on ebay..
I still love my d200 and use it often.. and I have a d7100 and a d600

With the price of used D100's (or even D200's) it's not worth repairing in my opinion. Just get a D200, or the D100 if the D100 files are exactly what you want. Very likely cheaper than a repair. I went from a D100 to a D200 and while there were some aspects of the D100 files I liked, the overall performance of the D200 was a great improvement.
