Great work! Did you have special access when it was empty, or were you just very patient?

I like your compositions and processing a lot. Given that you're meticulous about camera placement, I feel obligated to point out that you were off-center in #9, resulting in a visible lack of concentricity in those circles

Nice tasteful fisheye work too. Not typical for architecture, but you use it wisely.

Thanks!

I saw that with #9...it's an incredibly difficult task trying to line those shots up while laying on my back on the rotunda floor. I was more successful in some of the other capitols during this trip.

#8 I really like the way the lines continue in the reflection.

#11 is just spectacular.

Actually, I really like the set

Hi Glenn,
Great work. I was wondering other than the fish eye, did you use tilt-shift lenses or perspective correction pp? Very nice work with great lines and camera locations.

Thank you, Jim...I used the Nikon 14-24 for most of the photos. I don't own a tilt-shift lens. The only perspective correction that I apply is to use the Perspective Crop tool in Photoshop.

Nice job. That's given me some things to think about next time I visit there! I hardly know what to do with my wide angle lens; perhaps I should give it more of a try, based on how good you have got these shots.

Glenn,

Nice set. I agree with others' sentiments that your wide-angle work is interesting and well-executed.

What was your trick to get empty rooms for the shots?

I checked your page and am a little disappointed not to see the UT tower as part of the Austin set.

Thanks!

Mostly, I just patiently wait until a room clears before taking the photo. Some of these rooms (like the House and Senate chambers) are usually roped off so that nobody is in them.

I have a picture or two of the UT Tower in my overall Texas collection of shots. It was one of those very cold, overcast days with a white, haze sky--so those aren't my favorite shots from the trip.

Thanks! The fisheye is relatively new to me, so I am really enjoying the unique perspective it provides for certain situations.
