I wasn't really sure which forum to put this in so I am sorry in advance if this is the wrong spot.
Just a miniature cannon shot on black foam board with a 20 in soft box camera left w/ sb600 @ 1/32 power and a white reflector camera right to bring back some shadows -christmas tree lights for the backdrop.... shot with nikon 85mm F1.4G at F2 1/125 sec iso200
CC is always welcome!

Nice ... love the BG (if it is) and would like to see a slightly more tilt to the left - for the cannon to advance down, to conquer, you know ... :-)

Thanks Mark. I redid the shot this weekend for ya. Pointed the cannon more downhill and changed the background up. Same setup for the cannon. For the background I snooted an LP180 with full cto gel camera right and pointed it directly at various wine and beer glasses stacked on top of bar schools directly behind the cannon about 6 feet. The reflection on the glasses creates the bokeh..... I also added a little burning incense stick inside the cannon to make it look like it had just fired onto the background. So does this one look more like its conquering?

I love the second shot! There is one big problem with it, though. You have added the incense stick to make it look like the cannon is firing, but you have focused on the back of the cannon. I think you should try shooting it again and place the cannon in the same position as the first, with the same light and background of the second.

This is just my opinion, and you should do whatever you think is best.

Julian

P.S. Do you by chance shoot Canon?

Hey Julian thanks for the tips. I have some shots with the front of the cannon in focus but the back isnt because of the angle and me shooting it at F2 to try to keep the Bokeh the way it is without separation.
I may try to set the whole thing up again one day with the cannon in the position of the first though.
To answer your question no I do not shoot Canon sorry I shoot Nikon
