p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · How to optically trigger a 430 EX II?

I'm looking for a simple method to optically trigger my Canon 430 EX II. Of course this will only have manual capabilities but all I need it to do is light my seem less, painless.

Thanks in advance!
Joel

You need a Canon compatible optical slave trigger and a hot shoe adapter. It is available from FlashZebra.com.

These are what I have, and they are one of the few optical triggers that won't "freeze" operation after a single flash. Highly recommended.

I also have the version which has a rotating hotshoe - so very useful for older 580 Mk1's which have no PC socket.

FWIW, I'm also using 3 600's and a STE3.

Got it; so you'll be triggering the 600s using radio, and want to use the 430 along with them, triggered by the flash from the 600s.

Yep, the Flash Zebra slaves marked "Canon Compatible" are the way to go. Lon, the owner of Flash Zebra, is a great guy who goes out of his way to find good stuff for smaller markets, offer it at fair prices, and provide great customer service.
