Nice job on these, Dutch! Although, I'm wondering what happened to the rest of that house finch in #2 ?

Here is the rest of the House Finch. I don't know what I was thinking when I did that first crop. Beginners mistake!

Welcome, don't make a stranger of yourself here. Good detail, perhaps a tad overexposed, and some tight crops.

I come here quiet often to read and try to learn. Can't help but feel a little intimidated by the talent here. I felt these turned out pretty good for me.

Welcome rdl,
I think you did great for your first post here!
Your house finch that is not cropped, I would clone out the smaller branch to the lower left!
Keep shooting and posting, it will help you improve

Welcome to FM.

Your photos have excellent detail and fine backgrounds. It is usually best to have your subject looking into the frame rather than out as the viewer tends to look where your subject is looking.

You have very nice exposures and sharpness in these Dutch. The comps could use a little work as Morris said, but that will come with practice. And welcome to N&W ~ Ron

Great shot of #1 (Titmouse I think). They are quick little birds. I have yet to get a decent shot of one.-Phil

Very nice. My preference is for a bit wider crop. I like to see their environment a bit.

Great detail in all. The first could use a bit more space in front of it. For the second if you want to crop tight, go tighter and make it a head shot. The flight photo is very nice.

These are a few of my buddies. One thing I've decided to do this past year is not crop really tight. I want to include more of the environment in my shots. Try it both ways and see what you like. I do try and leave some room in front of the bird though either way - like the 2nd Finch photo. Also, the Chicadee is a shot that I would probably not keep because he/she is blocked by the branch.

Don't be intimidated, just post your images and if you ask for CC, you will get it.

Have fun...Al
