I've never had a problem with Sigma....if the 50/1.4 (and hopefully the 24/1.4 and the 135/?) are comparable, I'm a buyer and will sell any Nikon counterpart. I have not included the 85/1.4 as I believe it to be an outstanding lens...for that reason, I doubt that it's in the pipeline, and has not been the subject of any rumors (to my knowledge) as the other two have.

Shame your opinion has been tainted by your previous experience. Understandable though. But the new Siggy lenses are amazing.

When the 24mm f1.4 is released I will sell my Nikon 24 in an instant and get the Siggy. At this rate and based solely on my experience with the 35mm I will happily trade all of my Nikon glass for the new line of Sigmas. Apart from the 70-200 and 200/2 of course. But all my primes will be swapped, and I'll have lots of cash in my pocket to boot.

Of course, I should wait and see how the 50 1.4 A perform, before I turn it down....one never know :-).

Seriously, go try the 35mm. It's astonishing.

If they make a good 24/1.4, they need to give me a big heads up so I can unload mine first. =P

Why not a 21mm F1.4? That would be my dream lens!

I`ve got to many "bad" lenses from Sigma to ever try them again. No way!

Funny I used to say the same thing until I bought 35/1.4. I am all in now. My Nikon 50/1.8 will be up for sale very soon. I am almost sure that the new 50mm from Sigma will be excellent.

Leica makes one. A bit pricy though.

We need a 24 Art Prime, new 85, and a 105 or 135 to complete a set. Would buy them all. Also, a wide angle like a 14/16 would be lovely too. I love my 35, sharpest lens I own.

Their current/past 14/2.8 is good. I swear by mine. A shame it's no longer made. I would buy their 24/1.4 if/when they make one.

not native for Nikon mounts

Siggy does have an old 20mm f1.8 DG that they make, I don't see why an update (or change to 1.4) wouldn't be out of the question in the future. I would 110% be interested in it for sure, I've wanted something GOOD in that focal length that is faster than 2.8 for a while.

Back on topic...One thing aside from the great new glass I'd like to see them produce are DSLR's with other mounts using the Foveon sensor, either crop or full-frame. I think knowing the Foveon's limitations, It would make a stellar 2nd body for low-ISO shooting. Maybe 1st body for the right scenario.

Happy Days. I sold my 50mm 1.4g and have been somewhat missing the focal length and DOF. So can't wait to get my hands on this lens!

$1300 predicted price tag according to photorumors.com. Isn't that what the Canon 1.2 cost? Seems off.

+2, however, if it performs on the Otus level then I guess it's a steal

The price is from an Australian website, if I'm not mistaken they are more expensive than the US.

Photorumors.com now reports that another Australian retailer posts a price of $899 (in US dollars). Reportedly as "reputable" as the first. Presumably, these so-called "placeholder" prices are not uncommon in Australia where the retailers appear to pluck a number out of air so as to get a jump on the market.

TTeam up with boehner. You may have a career in stand-up. I know several who couldn't get insurance because of pre-existing conditions. They now have coverage. I certainly hope you and your family never have to know the anxiety of being unable to get health insurance for some reason.
