We (also) spent the New Year holiday on the Northern California Coast, close to Gualala (silent "G") where the internet and cell phone service is intermittent but the scenery is spectacular. Happy new year to the N&W FM community; I look forward to seeing and sharing many more images in 2014!

Gorgeous set Greg. Your pintail image is the best I've seen and that is my favourite duck of all time. I think the foreground sparrow is a chipping sparrow as I shot one this past year in AK and it looks like that one.

Very nice set I love the first .I believe the sparrow is a immature white crowned but my bird ID is horrible so we'll see what the experts say

The Northern Pintail at Sunrise is stunning, Greg! Great angle with a great separation, great light, great pose and great detail

I also like the opening image, even though I'm seeing it with more saturation as my personal preference.
I'm with Michael on the ID of your sparrow because of the yellow beak.
Very good job on these!

Could we have asked for better weather in NoCal! Man, what glorious days we had too. That first shot is special...I think my son tried for that type of effect where we were...I just don't have the patience or the skill...maybe more the latter. All beautiful shots and if its possible to be homesick for somewhere I've never lived...I am! Great series to start off the New Year!

Beautiful images, Greg.
I'd like a bit more saturation, contrast and sharpening of the first shot (not much- but some).
No nits about the birds, though- these are terrific!

I'll start out with that has got to be one of the best Pintail photo's that I have ever seen Greg, wow!!! Stunning photograph

The mystery sparrow is indeed a first year white-crowned, they are rather handsome birds. The townsend's looks as if he is presenting you with a gift! Gorgeous set Greg, you knocked this one out of the park.

Very nice work on the two little ones Greg... very nice. The sunrise at Black Point Beach is a lovely scene and your composition is really well done.

The eye-level perspective on the Northern Pintail in that beautiful light is absolutely gorgeous and my favorite.

Top notch work and a treat to see.
