I have decided to sell my Contax G 28mm solution to adapted use on a Leica M or Sony E mount cameras. The Contax G28 optic/aperture assembly has been mounted in a Minolta MD 28/2.8 lens body. A 6 bit Leica M adapter has replaced the Minolta bayonet.
The lens has been infinity adjusted to Leica M cameras. If the lens is used with a proper thickness M to Sony E adapter, it will retain infinity focus. The aperture ring gives about 1/2 stop increments with every detent, but since the aperture scale takes a 1 stop step from f/2.8 to f/4.0, the scale reads about 1/2 stop from actual. The distance scale, however, is very accurate and can be used for zone focusing. Minimum distance is about 1 foot without any sort of macro adapter.
The Minolta helical has been cleaned and lubed and is one finger operable, and turns in the proper focus direction, as the likes of Leica, Canon, etc.
The lens comes with a rear Contax cap to protect the rear element. You will need to find or make a deep Leica M cap, that will lock onto the M bayonet. I will include a generic front cap, also. The glass has no scratches or cleaning marks, but possibly a little dust. Filter size is 49mm.
Ideally, this lens would work well on a Leica 240 with an appropriate 6 bit code, since it is not rangefinder coupled. My intention was to use it as a 43mm effective normal on a NEX-6, but with a a7R, I'm rethinking things.
