A secondary highway through a stand of Lodgepole Pine trees. When my youngest looked at this photo she said the sky looked like a tornado. Interesting how children view images, it took me a moment to figure out what she meant but the 'V' of the grey sky does indeed have a tornado shape to it.

They are very tall and narrow. I am a bad judge for height but Lodgepole Pines can grow well over 100 feet tall (130-160 feet at their tallest according to what I've read online). Since this picture was taken in Banff National Park these trees will be quite old.
