First time I looked at it they struck me as being huge, not sure why the image had that effect. I half expected to see tiny people run out from behind them...like out of that old Journey To The Center of the Earth movie.
 . They are huge coder. Not as big as you've described, but nonetheless big. The largest mushroom was about 5 inches tall, so quite big. I know there are bigger mushrooms out there but I can't find them in any of the stores around here, where I live. I saw once in Europe some amazing wild mushrooms with yellow gills that looked little bit like a net. Someone please tell me where I can get some of these in the US? They were also very "slippery", just amazing mushrooms to photograph
