Great pictures everyone...mine looks ordinary in comparison.

Not the greatest lighting condition but, this will be the only chance

I'll have to be really close to a glacier so really like it a lot.

Taken at Traci Arm Fjord, Alaska.

I help a friend run a camp each year for kids struggling with self esteem. This old gentleman Graham is a regular too and he had come down to watch the children during the ropes course. As they all ran off back uphill for dinner Graham decided to take a quick rest.

I did an all night stint in Sydney recently. I love the Harbour Bridge and the fog added something to the mood.

Ebony is a Veterinary nurse. She has grown up with French Bulldog's and was wanting something of herself out in the street dressed up walking the dogs. We chose Lygon Street for the photos.

Sunset in Anacapri. 70-200/2.8 IS @ 105mm.

Rome, the main train station. 16-35 II.

Rome, the Pantheon & the fountain. 14mm (1,3 sec exposure).

2013 was the year I bought my first Canon DSLR.

Ethiopia was my most memorable trip, these were all with 6D, most with 40 2.8 STM:

Thanks for looking!

Thanks to everyone for posting the incredible shots in this year end compilation. I hope 2014 brings even more great shooting opportunities for all.

Paul Mo - Thanks for stopping by and posting. The first one is truly a china doll captured and the second one has an intriguing expression. Nice.

Gunzorro - Thanks for the more detailed explaination about the printing process.

11rdgr88 - Great shot off the glacier. I'd hardly say it's ordinary. I love the saturation of color showing the blue in the ice. Nice!

Thang - Wow Thang, I would expect you to come up with an amazing wildlife shot and you certainly have. The great photographers have a way of showing animals' expressions and expressions in such a way as to characterize them. This shot has done exactly that. There is so much life captured there.

BennyR - Super cool shot. Astrophotography is way out of my comfort zone. I really like how you've managed the light in order to clearly show every celestial object in the frame. Well done.

StarNut - That is simply an amazing waterfall. I like the perspective and crystal clear blue sky BG.

Chris Fawkes - You are showing your artistic abilities very well here. Each one of these stands on its own as a thought provoking image. I'm not sure which one I like best, but much can be read into each one. Great!

Snopchenko - I always love seeing your shots from Russia. They really give character to a place I will likely never see. The first shot of the staircase stands out with a lot of pizazz. The others give me an insight into the beauty and metro environment of your home.

MDelinquento - This is a really nice composition that tells the story of time and modern civilization. I have to say I love this one.

beanpkk - This is so Maine! I have never visited Maine but many of the coastal pictures have this feel. I almost looks like a miniature model, or Lego set.

Mark K - Wow, those eyes were made for the 135L lens. Fantastic shot.

Fast6 - This is a very cool landscape and I like how you included the person along with using the moon as the light source. Very creative.

Psychic1 - Excellent waterfalls. You have a great variety of urban and rural shots in your portfolio.

onesickpuppy - Very nice subjects, lighting, and techniques used in this series. You have shown your versatility in producing great shots that are completely different from on another but all have a very high quality.

Jase1125 - That is a beautiful barn and I really like the perspective through the two trees. The amazing snow covered mountains in the BG are just icing on the cake.

CoDaQue - My gosh these are emotional African pictures. Love em. Your processing is a great accent to already powerful images, especially the last shot.

Why so? It's not that difficult to get here nowadays (methinks). Especially if you come by sea from Finland or Sweden - you don't even have to get a visa and you have 72 hours. Far from enough, of course, but should suffice to grasp the basics.

Well... these pics above were actually from Italy, but I hope to do some shooting around here sometime - though everything looks downright miserable right now, with heavy rain and no vegetation. So it'll have to wait for spring. Luckily, after a year or so of downtime, I have regained a bit of confidence and found some sort of direction that I might like to pursue (if only technically, not artistically). It's all better than wallowing in self-condemnation!

My second submission.

I liked this three-shot "pano" as soon as it went down. The only three shots I took of him, pop-pop-pop.

Love that 50/1.2L.
