Hi Folks
Well, I have nothing new to show you, unfortunately. However, as it seems as though I am always offering help in identifying shorebirds on this board, I thought I would just give you a good laugh and show you a window into my brain. As an avid birder (and photographer), I am constantly looking for new species, not just the most exciting species (eagles, hummers, toucans, etc). When one reaches my level of obsession, this is how the illness manifests itself......

Dorian (now with improved capitalization - I need to stay in the habit to make my blog look professional!)
That's an impressive blog, Dorian.
And the best example of why I've never become a serious birder:
To me there are only four kinds of shorebirds: long legs, short legs, long beak, short beak.
My life is much simpler that way.
On the topic of capitalization: shouldn't bird species NOT be capitalized except when the name is the first word on the line or in a sentence? Well, and also if it's a proper name, i.e. American, Canada, etc.
Going on that principle- you have a couple of words that are capitalized that probably shouldn't be.
Which makes this the nit-pickiest comment of my year .
But said in the spirit of friendliness .
