I guess I'll kick this off
When I was a kid growing up in Florida (0-7) I would catch dragonflies and bring them in to the house and let them loose. It would drive my mother crazy. Well, I remembered they would always land on a stick we had in our front yard. So, this year when I say the dragons were out... I placed a stick in the ground... and within 20 minutes, they were landing on it. I have a ton of dragon shots, but, even with the brown background, I really like this one. Shot with the Canon 5D3 and Sigm 150mm macro.

This shot was taken at the Scottsdale Butterfly Wonderland. I shot this place three times over the summer, so many amazing butterflies and they bring in different species to keep things new and refreshing. This was shot with the Canon 5D3 and the Sigma 150mm macro. I got lucky and caught it right at a 90 to the lens.

The last shot was taken with the Canon 5D3 and the Canon MP-E65. I rented the lens and spent the afternoon at the same butterfly place I mentioned above. This was taken at about 3X magnification, hand-held of a live butterfly wing. I have it printed and hanging on the wall... tons of detail.

So, I didn't shoot a ton of macro this year, but I'm pretty happy with the ones I shot. I look forward to seeing your favorite 3 images for 2013.
I hope everyone has a fantastic 2014!
Happy shooting!
