Spent the day walking the Presidio while I waited for the rest of the fam to arrive. I was happy to see lots of hummers and then a kestrel. It perched for a while then took off...I thought I might have spooked it although I was far away. I then caught a glimpse of it flying across the field and managed to catch up with it on a branch with its mouse lunch. This was in a restricted/sensitive area so I was limited to the extent of the foot zoom. Some of shots were with the 200-400 with 1.4tc engaged and some with another 1.4tc added.
So, apologize for the big crops.
Eric
That mouse, as the Brits might say, was gutted at its performance in the game of survival that day. Alas, there is no chance for redemption. A good sequence despite the reach issues Eric.
You did good with these Eric. Love the shots and obviously you were restricted by not perfect backgrounds but they turned out really good.
But next time can you post some crappy shots from this lens. I don't need any more temptation to buy this lens. I know it will be the next big lens on my acquisition list but I'm really trying to hold off on it.
