A friend of mine recently gave me a Nikon F4s that was not in a working condition. It is mint cosmetically. It has all the boxes, paper work and an invoice from 1991 showing the purchase price of the camera.
So I sent it to APS in Morton Grove for getting it fixed hoping the fix would probably run me about $100-$125. However I got an estimate today with an estimate of $295.
Now I am not sure if it makes sense to get it fixed as there are good ones on KEH selling for around $150. Does it make sense at all to get it fixed at that price? Here is what they listed on the estimate..
1127 F4 BODY: repair S - mode operation
1150 repair mirror box sequencing unit
3125 adjust shutter speeds
3142 adjust meter accuracy
4190 check auto focus operation
4100 check film winding and spacing
6282 general clean, lubricate and adjust
2053 DP-20: replace finder contact plate
282 general check and clean
