Fifteen of these originally available, sold several here on FM but have ten left as of mid January 2014.
These have been awesome and are truly universal (I've had large events where multiple photogs shooting different brand bodies trigger the same strobes/speedlights/studio lights using these).
Each one can send or receive via multiple channels and groups and work with ALL DSLR's that I have run across (Canon, Nikon, Pentax, etc.). Price is 'each' for a transceiver, battery door, copy of instructions and pc sync cord (radio jack cord can also be used if preferred and multiple flashes can be triggered with one remote via cheap splitter cables as needed).
ONLY reason for selling these is that I have swapped over to a more expensive (eek!) Phottix Odin setup.
These use 2 AAA's, each remote comes with a sync cord and battery door. I have tested and used these reliably to HSS / hypersync / high-speed sync Nikon cameras and speedlights with studio lights and strobes up to 1/8000th shutter speed.
Product Description:
Radio Transmiter. Pulsar can trigger devices around corners and through walls.
100m Range. Pulsar allows photographers to work further distances from their light source.
Long Battery Life. Expect to enjoy over 200 hours of continuos use from your Pulsar.
It's a Transceiver! Pulsar can be a transmitter or receiver at the touch of a switch.
Low voltage operation. Pulsar operates at just 3v perfect for use with sensitive digital cameras.
This multifunctional device can be used to trigger flash units, film and digital cameras and light meters for up to 100 meters. Because it uses radio transmission, rather than IR, it allows for triggering around corners, through walls and is not affected by high ambient light situations. Choose from four individual channels and six studio selectors, each providing a unique ID for a different flash device or combine them to trigger all equipment within a given setup or studio. Pulsar also features a hot-shoe mount, sync in and sync out terminals, a ready indicator, a test button and an external power option. Because of its low-voltage operation, it is perfect for digital cameras. Each unit can be used as either a transmitter or receiver and operates off of two AAA batteries. Precision, Power and Digital Dependability, The Pulsar has four separate channels, enabling the photographer to isolate various light sources or to combine them and fire them all at once without leaving the camera. Additionally, the Pulsar has a studio selector switch, which provides isolation from other Pulsar units using the same channel, and allowing up to six different systems to operate independently in the same studio or shooting space. It also has a five way channel selector switch that allows the photographer to select all flash heads to fire simultaneously or to fire up to four heads individually.
A few of my example setups with these remotes:
Dual background setups, could be triggered all at once or switched to individual channels for each photographer to use at the same time only firing their side.
Distance test, firing strobes from a helicopter
Using these triggers to fire 2 different studio strobes plus a Nikon speedlight at 1/8000th shutter speed
Another 1/8000th test with studio strobes using these remotes.
These is my goto setup for running on camera TTL flash at an event while triggering multiple remote strobes/speedlights for event lighting all around rooms of any size.
These have also worked at 11fps firing ~15 speedlights using my D4 to capture sports portraits (this is an out-take image)
Bottom line, these things are the best, easiest to use, most straightforward and flexible triggers that I have seen.
