p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Long lens bag for 400 DO

I am looking for a long lens bag to carry my 400mm f4 DO in the shooting position (hood extended) while in the field. It measures approximately 14.5" tall x 6" wide. Most of the Domke's and Tenba's are either too short or too tall but I've not found anything else. Suggestions?

Thanks...

Chris

The TT Glass Taxi should work for you, Chris.

I think you will need the Glass Limo to carry with body and hood extended. I think the Taxi won't fit the extended hood.

I use my F-Stop Guru with out any ICU in it and it will just fit the 1DX, 300 2.8 with hood extended so that would also work. My favourite bags are Gura Gear but to have it in there with hood extended you actually have to get the largest 32L Bataflae or a used Kiboko 30L. The 22L and 26L won't fit it with the hood out. So that may be a bit big with the entire other side as empty space (speaking to the 32L).

Do you want a backpack? I carry my 400 DO with the hood in shooting position using a Deuter futura 32 backpack, and cheap eBay insert. Works great, weighs next to nothing, with additional room for gear, can be used as a regular backpack when needed. It's actually big enough to carry the 400 DO and my 70-300L next to it. And the total cost is less than a lot of other options.

I'm just looking to carry the lens itself... not with a body attached which is why it should work. One nice feature it seems about the TT is that I can carry it as a shoulder bag which I much prefer over the backpack option...
