What a great wild set Tony! I really like the environment in these shots. The badger is a bonus, we don't see many of them on this forum.

Thanks Tim, not quite at your level yet, but I am trying.
The Badger was actually digging his den and I have great video of him doing so as well; it is truly amazing how much dirt they can move and his claws were longer than some Grizzly's I've seen

Thanks Again
Tony

I am new to FM and very happy that I found the site.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your beautiful work, I find the images captured here truly inspiring.
Question: where can I find out how to upload or share photos? perhaps someone can post a link?

There is an FAQ link at the top of the page... http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/faqforum.php
That has an upload section that explains how to post your images.

Wow, I love the series! The images are so clear and extremely sharp. What lens did you use? The exposure and white balance are perfect!! Well composed too.

Good gracious, some of these images ought to be in Nat Geo or Audubon! Thanks, everybody, for such inspiring work. I'm late to the party ... and totally intimidated. I've been shooting outdoors for not even a year yet, so I'm still finding my way. But I'm looking at this like being back in high school and forcing myself to get in front of class to deliver my report.

The most important thing I've learned so far is patience - to learn and observe behavior, scope out a scene, to visualize a "picture," then go make it. I really had to

Tim- thanks, I hope I am doing this correctly.
It is rather daunting to add my modest efforts to the impressive talents on your forum, but I hope tthe images are of interest.
These were picked from last year's photo-ramblings throughout South Florida, and the three images include:
1. Baby racoon who could not hold back his curiosity
2. Ahninga with a tiny catch so well speared he could not shake it off
3. Great White Egret fly-by at the Fakahatchee State Forest

Going to attempt to do the impossible.........summarize this thread in one word:

WOW!!!!

So...to me 2013 gave a few special moments for me and these three represent a time...a moment
and understanding that hopefully 2014 will be a better year.

One the first one, the rose...represents the results of a solid year with friends shooting at times out of the box.
But in it, came closer relationships, memories and the joy of new gear.

Our eagle season starts the end of Nov through the first of Jan....but this year on top of having some drastic
weather colder than normal, the bird count was only about half of what we're use to....then to lose my job in
the midst of it. Well...gave some more time to shoot...and on one day particular this bird flew into a light pocket
and made my day...just wish it would have been 10 seconds sooner

So with ending the year...I'll part with a sunset that was obtained by venturing out with a close friend across the state
and getting for the first time a weekend of snowies and this sunset.

Many good memories in 2013 and here to more for 2014

This is one simply awe inspiring thread .... and I'm only up to viewing (and Liking) Page 18 !

OK Round 2 for me (I came late to the party)

From Sabah, Borneo ... a miniscule Rufous Piculet (one of the world's smallest woodpeckers can be as small as just 8cms (1 cm above the record) or 3.1ins and weighing just 9.2g or 0.32 oz) !

Collared FInchbill - this from 1,000 Islands Lake in Zhejiang Province, China.

Bornean Pygmy Elephant (Kinabatangun River in Sabah, Borneo). Not a stunning shot by any means but the baby is just so cute

Round 3 from me before this thread sinks into the depths of the archives

Not my usual but NZ is simply awe-inspiring !

The simply gorgeous Japanese Paradise Flycatcher (this is the female and unfortunately you can't see her colours here - the male with his streamers is amazing). This one is from an island off the coast of Shanghai.

Royal (Southern) Albatross - Taken from a boat off Kaikoura, NZ. Albatross as a species have the largest average wingspans of any living birds .. the largest being the Wandering, at just under 12ft. The Royal has an average wingspan of almost 3 m (9.8 ft).
