Glad you guys enjoyed it.
Yeah, wasn't too concerned with bears bothering the car, never hear of grizzlies getting into them. They had had park warnings for heavy bear activity with the berry crop near many of the campgrounds, this led to their closure.
The night before the hike we chatted with a bartender at the hotel that gave us the lowdown on the area. Apparently the Many Glacier valley has the highest concentration of grizzlies in the park. We had chosen to do the Grinnel Glacier hike...which of course happens to cut through the valley and is one of the most bear inhabited areas. Bartender even noted that if many people weren't on the trail we'd likely see a mother and her cubs out.
Needless to say... I became slightly apprehensive about journey ahead. Thankfully... no bear encounters. Lots of people on the trail -- it was the last day before the park closed -- and an incredible hike was had. Some good photo ops, but most of the light was rough and I didn't bring along my full-frame. Nevertheless, may try to post a few from the area to show its potential for those who haven't visited. (really is quite a beautiful hike)
