Placed a couple orders on 11/25 with B&H; ground delivery was clearly stated to be 11/27, which was what I needed.

One order was processed promptly, and out the door, for shipping and delivery on 11/27.

The other order: for whatever reason, wasn't. On the 26th, I was finally notified that I would see it on 12/2, which was too late for me.

I called B&H, and told them I really needed this gear on the 27th, and I explained why- it was for a paid shoot, I had to test it, and if I found something with infant mortality, I needed time to ship back and get a replacement.

There was some initial reluctance on their part, as the order was apparently on it's way to UPS. Let's just say I insisted. I didn't have to "escalate" in any way; I only dealt with one person.

They issued a recall, and picked up overnight shipping at no additional charge to me. Both boxes arrived the following day.

To me, that was a reasonable request, and a more than reasonable solution. I even offered to split overnight shipping, but they refused, which was nice. I wasn't asking for $1,000 of merchandise for free because of somebody's mistake in processing my order; just meet me halfway on shipping. We're both trying to run a business.

As it turns out, one item was dead in the water - a docking station for a Ninja 2 HDD - and I have just had time to talke with Atomos and go through the RMA process and have a replacement unit shipped to me.

With some intended humor and apologies.

@Steve, What fun is a boiling pot if you don't throw the metaphorical toad in it?

@OP, I don't mind hearing the good service story on this forum, at all. With all the Nikon Service Hating that goes on (likely well deserved by Nikon at times), it's nice to hear a positive experience w/ a vendor.

Granted, this story has a thorn or two...

BTW, when is Molson gonna turn up on this thread? I have my popcorn ready.

Promised two orders on 11/27 and later notified would see one of them delivered on 12/2 (and one item was delivered dead in the water). WTF? People are happy about this?

And you think it was B&H's fault that the item was DOA? Really?

- B&H paid for overnight shipping when they did not have to.
- B&H is replacing the DOA item and in timely fashion/

Yes, sounds like good service to me.

Just to be clear: I didn't even ask B&H to replace the part - it's a $2 part. Just opened a ticket with the manufacturer, and they're taking care of it, as they should.

Also: I was never "promised" delivery on 11/27. B&H's ordering process clearly says "Anticipated Delivery Date".

I am 100% happy with B&H's response on this. They stepped up, it took 5 minutes to resolve.

My larger point: I always give the vendor a chance to rectify in private. Communication is a two way street.

I'm not sure that I've ever dealt with a vendor. local or online, that is better than B&H. Those guys are sterling in my book.

Big thumbs up for B & H in all the years.

My only quibble this year was an order placed with a 2 -3 ready-set-go date on the web form, was not really red flagged 'in my face' as back ordered... Didn't see it till after check out. But they cancelled straight away, no harm no foul.. And I for whatever reason, got it 200 cheaper in Canada? Didn't see that coming.

Anyway B & H Big thumbs up ! Great people for years and years and years.
