I'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere (my searches have come up empty but for many "vs" threads). I'm likely obsessing too much over it, but I'm about to pick up an 82mm polarizer and I'm not sure whether to go with the Singh Ray LB Neutral or the B+W XS-Pro. I was pretty set on going in the Singh Ray direction until I read Jeff's post here (it's the seventh post down).

I understand that there will always be dissenters, but he seems pretty level-headed about his dislike for Singh Ray and their quality control.

And on the other hand, I hear that Singh Rays, while not multicoated, produce sharper results.

Help me find my mind, which I seem to have lost.

i read a lot of opinion and nothing about his particular regimentation in testing. another "expert" to at to the pile.
written in 2008

i use the tiffen brand (a lot has happened since 2008) he despises and get good results
and i have the B+W XS Pro but use the T over it more often

Thanks. That was another concern. The staleness of the data. This is an oft-cited test compilation, but--as you say--much has happened since 2008.

Any reason you think you use the Tiffen over the B+W more often?

Well, for one thing, they're made in the USA, if that's a factor for you.

Tiffin's pro filters are great, but I like the cases B&W puts their filters in much better. B&W actually sells their filter cases separately by the way. You can find them through B&H. I use their biggest size for my Big Stopper and a 105mm CPL.

the newer DHT CP filter lets more light in throughout is range.
