During the last 3 years I was looking for this beautiful owl but never had the opportunity to capture it with my camera.
Finally yesterday I found two snowy owl's on a sand dune close to the beach.
I chased them for two hours-they are very shy - and finally one of them was very close and very cooperative with the camera, a beautiful experience but very cold afternoon.
Congrats and well done! It seems Snowies are showing up all over the tristate area this year. Hopefully you will be able to get a few more images over the next months.

Ohhhh gosh those were a treat and it was neat to see the changing light and how it changes the mood of the image. Very well done and great on getting the lift off and the IF shots!
Really sweet set of a bird I would dearly love to catch in my camera lens I haven't heard that they have appeared in Washington state yet, but I'm waiting every day to head out.

Please people stop these posts...I'm getting way too jealous....I love this bird and you did a great job capturing it in these photos. Fingers crossed they return to Vancouver this winter.
Congratulations on a fine set and for your patience and perseverance paying off. My favorite is the yawning owl - too much excitement on the beach it seems. Cheers!

Wonderful images, Marcelo! I like the third and fifth the best. It's nice when they cooperate and tolerate close approaches, but you also showed great patience bearing the cold weather for two hours!
Congratulations on the shots, surprised to see they're coming down as far as Jones Beach...guess their food supply situation has gotten a little worse this year as well.
