As portraits I rather like the tightness. If you want to show what he's doing, though, then a bit wider would make a difference. I've had a pro photog say the first thing to notice before taking a shot is the background, and these backgrounds are bright and colorful, which makes them a little distracting. An inquiring eye notices that the backgrounds are totally different, yet the subject is basically in the same position. Is the background a video or something?
The main subject is nice and sharp and obviously concentrating on what he's doing, and that was probably your main intent.
