(Note- I cleaned up this anhinga shot and then posted the wrong one- so here's the correct one ).
Florida swamps, of course. Too bad it's about 3,000 miles away from the PNW; I only managed two trips there that gave me time for photography.
The anhinga was about to take off.
I posted this before but made some editing changes.
Alas- my 400mm lens left no room at either side, so I decided to crop some off the top and bottom for this version.
The link is to images of people I took through my years of travel.
Some I requested permission- but did not pose the people. And I took less than one or two minutes usually, because I hated to interfere with their lives any more than I had to. In most cases I had time enough to get an image or two that pleased me (out of a total of an image or two ). At $.50 per shot, I had to be careful on a four-month trip (my average out of several major trips abroad).
Others I just waited with my old 35mm film camera preset for exposure, and when something happened, I turned, focused and shot (usually I got only one shot- then turned back and walked away).
To me, the images of people represent the highlights of my travels.
And they represent my best photography imo.
Note: Except for China- I traveled on my own dime (back when US money was strong).
With China, I was a tour manager.
