p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Beautiful model!

I was asked by one of my friends to shoot some models in prom dresses for her store and this one definitely stood out the most to me!

This was a 4 light setup:
-1 Octagon softbox as key light
-2 gridded strip boxes on the sides
-1 for the background

I really like everything about this *except* that the lighting scheme makes her nose most unflattering!

Also, her hair is a bit of a train wreck. This style begs for clean, tight hair

Aloha

Don't think the striplights have helped her nose. And yes the hair is a bit untidy at the back. But other than that, looks good, and lovely processing

I did some work on the nose and it doesn't look as distracting.

If you do some work on a picture - keep the original there and add a new picture. Otherwise the comments don't make sense.

Impressed with the picture, except for the points already noted.

Is the current picture the edited one?

Nose looks marginally better, but still highlighted areas on the side very unflattering - make her nose look bigger than probably is.

I would suggest a retake. Fix hair and adjust lighting setup.

A simpler lighting set up would have produced a nicer shot. This is often the case. I don't think the nose problem is fixable in post without an extraordinary effort. I agree that a retake is necessary.

I'm not a professional in any way, shape, or form so take my comments with a grain of salt. I'm just a guy here trying to learn.

1) The upper line of that dress where it meets the body seems very flat. There is no shape or definition. It almost looks like the dress was pasted on in PP.

2) The first thing I am drawn to is that lighting on the outer edges of her arms. It gives me the idea that they are melting into the background. Something about it that doesn't look very natural.

Nice picture however I feel it is more about the model than the dress... in your OP you mentioned "...shoot some models in prom dresses for her store ..."
