My RX100 seems prone to clipping highlights. I realise that this is partly due to user error however can somebody please advise as to how best reduce highlight clipping.

1. Shoot raw and take advantage of highlight recover of raw converter. There are lots of details that can be obtained this way.

2. If you really want to shoot JPG, shoot in DRO mode.

Dial in some negative exposure compensation, I usually keep mine on -1/3

I use a 1/3- comp on all images as default, and only shoot raw. It still hits those high notes at times, but its easier to deal with in general. Other than that, you can set it to spot meter, or shoot full M.
