decide I will use AA for my MB-D10.

maybe a dumb question.....

I already have the regular eneloops but need another 4. Can I mix the regular eneloops with the newer XX eneloops?

Unless Nikon makes Eneloops, this is in the wrong forum

To answer your question, I mix old and new Eneloops and haven't had any issues. I have 2 flashes (8 batteries) + 2 wireless receivers (4 batteries) + 1 wireless trigger (2 batteries) = 14 batteries and I carry a backup set of another 14. I bought the backup set recently, whereas I bought the original set a year ago.

That is not a good idea because the capacities are significantly different.

Realistically, it'll be fine. It'll probably not the best health for your newer XX batteries though, since you'll charge them before they're fully empty.
