I'm liking it a lot Bob, used it more yesterday than the 35 FE. In fact we went down to DC, had my backpack with my 15 ZE, 21 ZE, 28 f/2.8 IS, and CV 125mm. Didn't shooting anything but the 35/55 FE combo. And by far I shot the 55 the most. I love the size advantage over my Canon setup.

My take on the 55 FE is that it's gorgeous.

Nice view out your window, love the color and tone that this camera captures. There's a little "je ne sais quois" in my shots compared to my 5D II.

A7r with Canon FD 20mm F/2.8 S. S. C. Here are some additional shots from yesterday. The more I look at these files the more I like this old Canon lens.

I'm pleased to see that all my Zeiss Z lenses render crisper and more detailed images with the A7 versus Canon 5D2.

+1 - electronic aperture is quite nice. But only for lenses without focus shift...

(Apologies for little sub par quality of images compared to my normal - My Mac Pro decided no longer co-operate after 7 years of hard use...and I had to process these on Windows with Sony's RAW converter as only tool and it doesn't even have black level or any other useful adjustments.)

Some interior architecture images, testing out the A7r as a platform for the 24mm TS-E and various ZE-lenses. The images are from the old factory buildings of the local brewery which has moved out, the buildings are now converted to spaces for the Art Academy.

The A7r works really great for this kind of work. On a tripod at base ISO the A7r delivers incredible amount of detail and a dynamic range that has lots of headroom for postprocssing. Colour is good. I have not experienced very problematic flares. The tilting screen works great in tights spaces.

I have used the 24mm TS-E for vertical stithces like the two below, and had some worries that the offset microlenses of the A7r would give some very slight sensor introduced vignetting between the shots. However this caused no problems. The three image stitches gives 60Mpix files with lots of detail.

The tripod foot of the Metabones adapter also works great.

Edit: The image above shows flares from light sources (partly) outside of the picture frame in the upper half caused by the adapter. I am planning to modify the adapter as described here to fix the issue.

Some ZF Zeiss forest samples with the A7 from yesterday (can't match that taken by Samuli, just quick and dirt).Wide angles like 25/2.8 and 35/2 need to be stopped to f5,6 (35/2) and f8 (25/2.8) to make corner smearing accceptable.28/2 and esp. 21/2.8 show a little less smearing. All in all Zeiss Z wa lenses are great performers on the A7.Makro Planar 50/2 and 85/1.4 Planar as well.
