I had two copies already that I haven't payed a nickel for, so I gave one to a friend and decided to get a cheap adapter to at least try the other. I think it might be my sharpest lens at f/5.6, so definitely worth keeping.

Phiber, glad you came back on as I wanted to ask u a question. Have you tried your Touit 12mm on the a7/r yet? Will there be an advantage to shooting it on the FF as opposed to on the Nex, since it will always be in crop mode?
thanks for your time.

Finally getting benefits from A7 short flange. Back at the days I still shoot Canon I had EF 85/1.2mkII, but never really liked the lens due to it's lack of character, big gaussian blur machine. I like quite much FD 85/1.2L character, but at least my copy isn't as good what comes to measurable features as EF version, but I kind of like the characteristics and drawing style.

I tried to shoot handheld, but it's quite pain because when shooting vertical I can't fit my thumb between camera and my face. Due to this C2 and rear upper wheel are quite useless on vertical shooting.

Also exposed according to exposure metering; it seems that exposure metering is very good in A7 - much more consistent than 5DmkII exposure system. Only issue I had that if I follow the autoexposure it was about 1/3EV over, but very consistently - now I know it's very easy to shoot. This is good because even after years of live view shooting I can't get idea from A7 EVF is exposure good or not (5DmkII + LCDVF I haven't used anything else than my eye for exposure measurement). Auto-ISO in M-mode was very nice due to image quality being about same between ISO 100 and 400, which is not the case with 5DmkII.

1. Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L @ f/1.2, 1/125s, ISO 125

2. Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L @ f/1.2, 1/125s, ISO 400

3. Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L @ f/1.2, 1/160s, ISO 400

4. Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L @ f/1.2, 1/160s, ISO 500

5. Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L @ f/1.2, 1/320s, ISO 125

6. Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L @ f/8, 1/200s, ISO 800

Somehow you have the wrong link on FM. But, you do have the right one on L-Camera-Forum:

The OM lenses are really close to Leica regarding the color rendering. Love it!

No. There are no landscapes worth shooting around here. But if you want ”landscape IQ evaluation shots”, there is no difference between landscapes and shots of urban stuff.

A little Hexanon tour.
A tiny, cheap and good quality lens on every camera you bolt it on.

Must have been a terrible experience!
Why do people always want to shoot wide open? If not this is a very good lens as many of the Hexanons are.

The weather today was interesting - mostly cloudy (hey, it's Seattle in December) but not just a uniform gray at least. There was a "sunset glow" happening towards the south for most of mid-day -- these pictures were taken around 1 PM, but it looked like this at noon as well.

With the gray-ness, I needed a little corner-fix with the 21 Super-Elmar. I also worked on a new profile for the CV15, having a hard time getting consistent results with the Flat-Field plugin.

21 Super-Elmar-M

Summilux-R 80/1.4

Summicron-R 35/2

Super-Elmar-M 21/3.4

CV15/4.5

+ 1

The 50 Nocti f/1.0, IMO renders better on the A7r than the M240.

I would have to agree Charles, but the CA with the A7 is very prevalent when shooting WO compared to the M240, although the CA struggles with it also, only lesser
