Stephen, if you let yourself off the hook for more Florence pictures, it will allow Ronny to let himself similarly off the hook for more Lofoten pictures, which he also thinks "could be boring". Grrrrrrr.... Yours are so good, I saw the first one and thought: I need to remember this one as my favorite. Then another, and I thought: this one too. Then all of them... Boring? Pshaw!
Ronny, no inspiration? I can't say that I understand, because, simply, I have never had the inspiration/talent that you so eloquently display time after time, so I can't know how it feels to be suddenly devoid of something I've never enjoyed. But you have my sympathy, in spades.
And great stuff from Joshua (what else is new? ), and Werner (also totally not a surprise), and Peter, and Alfredo, and a superb portrait from Philip_PJ, and great street portrait from Jonathon, and an awesome mushroom from Samuli, and René, and dougo....
And kind words from Ronny. Much appreciated!

More early morning in Rouen with Otus 55.

Thank you, Philippe! Gorgeous images you have there - my compliment! The last image reminds me of that store lined alley in the Harry Potter movie .

An image of the super moon as it barely rose above the horizon and yes, those are sandhill cranes. The shooting conditions were tough here, in addition to about freezing temperature and somewhat windy. My intention was not to get the moon in perfect focus as I anticipated some birds to fly in from of the moon. But there is no way to track them using an adapted lens. Frankly, I am not even sure whether a native lens could do as it was really dark. So, I prefocus on some vegetation on the distant top in front of the moon and just prayed. Although the sandhill cranes were in decent focus but the shutter speed was not high enough to freeze the movement fully.... Oh, well.

First RAW image with the A7RIII - used the EXIFTOOL hack to get it into ACR.

300/4.5 ED AI Nikkor at f/5.6

Funny, the FM exif notation says A7RM3 despite changing it in the RAW file exif.

Lol, thank you again Philippe! Your cathedral shots are lovely. I am am always amazed when in the presence of great cathedrals—their beauty, of course, but also the nearly unfathomable amount of time and effort made by small (by today’s standards) communities to design and build them.

Lovely image. Did pixel shift work without artifacts on this scene? How long an exposure? I had thought it would fail if water was in the scene due to movement or did you only use PS on the buildings or?

Allow me to add my voice to the chorus singing the praises of this set—well done! The style of these really fits the mood of the images and they are very well composed. I especially like the second, second to last, and last images. Thx for sharing!

Lincoln Center, NYC

Given the quality of some of the images here, I'm not sure this one belongs in this thread, but as there is presently not a separate thread for FE 12-24/4 images, I'll give it a go.

Thanks!!

Artifacts are visible zooming in past 200% in the water, on the bridges (cars) and in the restaurant windows. Nothing that could not be easily repaired using layers in photoshop. Exposure was 20s at f5.6.
