Sorry mitesh, no critique for this one. Too good. But I will say the first is the better shot because of the body/head angle. Backgrounds are perfect.

Fantastic cormie portraits, Mitesh; great detail, beautiful light, and terrific work in post (just enough of a vignette to draw attention to the main subject). Like Geoff, I like the first one better; there's more of a sense of interaction and intrigue. It's a matter of taste, but one of the things that I find so beautiful about cormies are those intense turquoise-colored eyes; you might consider accentuating that sense a bit more. TFS.

Mitesh

I agree #1 is the better pose. Excellent work

As to the vignette, did you do that in post? Or is it the natural vignette of the 800 on a full frame sensor?

Hi acjd-

The vignette was added in post, about -15 amount and I think 80 on feathering. The lens does vignette on FF when shot wide open. Probably the only thing that I dislike about the lens is the long MFD because it necessitates using extension tubes which really accentuate the corner vignetting in a not-so-pleasing way.

Both are beauties Mitesh. Suggestion: Give the pore thing a towel, it looks wet :-}

Great shots Mitesh. My only comment would be to take a blow dryer with you to dry the feathers for more detail ~ Ron

#2 for me Love the BG and energy of light and how it hits the cheek and eye on this one and the head tilt and look has meaning and interest to me.

Certainly #1 is a great image...........I just prefer #2

Excellent presentation

The first is a real beauty Mitesh. The stronger eye contact makes that one hold my eyes far better than the second
