In normal use, with the DP6 above the camera, there's not much torque, because the rig is quite light. It's fine for "studio" work. OTOH, it destabilizes the whole system, and it does cause a lot of torque on the hot shoe if you carry the rig on tripod, over your shoulder.
Anyway, I don't use it any more. Now I use a super clamp/double ball/A-S clamp on the centre column, or long magic arm, clamped to a tripod leg.
