Not that I put much stock in the resellerratings rating. "Woot! does NOT participate at ResellerRatings to monitor feedback and resolve your issues. Are you this merchant? Learn more about the Merchant Member Program!" seems a bit too much like BBB-style extortion to me. These people will charge you $1,500/month as a retailer to help you mitigate these bad ratings.

If you don't trust a company owned by Amazon to ship the product and provide flawless customer service, then who can you trust?

I've dealt with Woot before and everything was always handled perfectly. That said, I don't think this is a great price, unless you absolutely must have the lens.

I bought the same camera and lens plus about $400 in accessories, factory new with double warranty a year ago for $1999

Right now, a refurb D600 probably goes for less than $1400 if you're patient. This bundle is only a good deal if you need an FX zoom. Not a bad lens at all, I like mine and still use it when I need a compact setup.

you cant get a 5D mark3 for 1699.00 that's the point of the post,and woot is a legit source.

who cares about what Canon cameras cost? Does this somehow make this deal sweeter? It's not like I am going to ditch everything to get into a different system over a camera being on sale.

Followed your link to resellerratings. Sorry I did. My assessment was not very far off. Apparently Jeff Bezos has so much on his plate he doesn't keep track of his vendors? 3.5 out of 10 is a fail in my book.

Most of the bad reviews come from items not being in stock. In all cases their payment was refunded.

Woot is not your typical online reseller but rather a deal a day type site. Eventually they run out of stock and take payment for items they may not have available.

I had posted this a while back, I guess it's back on. Woot is legit, I buy stuff there all the time.

It's worth checking daily, as they've often got some great deals. Yesterday, they had a Shun Classic 10" chef knife for something like $110.
