Hello,

I've got a speedlite 580, on the 7D it takes about 2 minutes, before it CAN actually flash..

On the 30D it works instant...

Does anyone know how this is possible?

Maybe the hot shoe on the camera is a bit loose. Try the "wiggle test". If it moves, it's loose.

Thoe shoe was not loosen, but I cleaned it, and It worked now..! Ill test tomorrow again.. Thanks for your help
