Out for my afternoon constitutional, I open back gate and hit the ditchbanks...
this time with the D800 in tow. It's kinda like going to the gym, but the scenery's
much more diverse. Fruits of the day's efforts for your perusal. Thanks for playin'

Too good. Not going to play. Besides, you have a better backyard.

Will, this is not fair, my backyard does not look like yours. My neighbors are no that cute

Really nice, as usual.

Have a great weekend.

This is irritating, I went out for a walk this morning with the 300/1.4 TC and got rained on

Nice shots Will, love that last one.

These images look fine on my screen. But are you happy with critical sharpness of the chubby and TC-20E III? The reason I ask is that I have that combo and it is not as sharp as I think it should be.

Absolutely, especially inside 50 yds or so. I went thru 3 copies (TC III) before satisfied on the D2Xs...
which as you may or may not know has no fine tune capability All my other bodies have
been tweaked to accept (and love) all the Nikon TC's. Here's a recent 100% crop SOOC

(my best IQ is between 2/3 and a full one, stopped down from the base f4)

Sorry to hear, Mike. We have some rain today, but I'm going out anyway.
Love shooting in different light for a change. Thank you!

Raining here too. I was planning to go to the Orchid Festival, but will wait until tomorrow.

Let's hope for better weather.

Dammit Will, please stop posting stupendous shots with outrageously good glass! I can't buy a Chubby and TC20 right now..... My recently acquired Siggy 120-300 f/2.8 Sport is as dangerously close to divorce territory as I'm prepared to go

Thanks a lot, Laura. Struggled with the comp on that one (took 5 different "poses"
with the horses in the BG. Maybe I guessed right

I recently picked up a D7100 for wildlife and have discovered my TC20III works amazingly on it at all distances. On my D700 it's acceptable, but cropping gets iffy quick. On my D300 no fine tuning brought it anywhere close to being acceptable.

It really is amazing how picky TC's can be.

Zero sharpening, SOOC raw

If you saw how terrible the TC was with my D300, you'd understand my joy haha. It made the 300/2.8 look like a 40yr/old mirror lens.
