Mbalageti region, Serengeti NP. Late afternoon light.

Debated positioning these in the frame.

Scott,

Based on the original shot, I think the crop is ideal. Unfortunately you don't have any real estate to work with to the right, because my eyes are naturally following the direction the Topi are facing.

In terms of processing, it seems a BIT heavy-handed with the sat/vibrance and maybe a little too contrasty.

I'm also curious if this would work in BW or if it'd feel too washed out.

My $0.02!

Jeff

+1 @ Jeff ... crop is improved, maybe a slight pull back on the gamma.

An alternate composition, for your consideration:

thanks folks
I agree with all the feedback: a bit too saturated/vibrant. Needed a bit more room on the right (didnt try to expand/clone in, my skills are week, CS4).
I hadnt considered BW for several reasons.
1. Liked the warm, golden hour sun. Taken about an hour before sunset.
2. The distinctive bluish-gray markings near the hindquarters (is that the right term?) helps to distinguish the topi from other East African antelopes of similar size.
