By the way, I avoided deep embarassment of the silliest kind by the smallest of margins today. When I picked up my remote, I saw an A7 with a Zeiss f/4 standard zoom on it! I got very excited, and asked to try it out, and proceeded to make a number of shots, testing the corners, the boke, the flare, and then handed it back, with thanks, and a comment about how it isn't even meant to be out yet.
I got home, started getting the photos ready, and then I realised, to my great dismay, that it was the 16-70/4, not the 24-70/4. The shape is very similar, and I simply translated the focal lengths in my mind before I knew what I was doing. I have no idea what that lens was doing on a FF camera. Silliness.
Surpringly, the performance wasn't half bad. I thought this lens was meant to be a bit of rubbish.
