Is the box sealed in anyway so you know that your camera supplier didn't trial use the lens ?

That's a really, really good question. It's probably not, given the other ZE/ZF.2 boxes. The only exception I can think of would be one destined for a really, really humid climate - Zeiss/Kyocera used to shrink wrap Contax lenses headed for some parts of Asia.

Mine came today, there's no sealing or tape to indicate if it's been tampered with. Furthermore, I'm disappointed it doesn't come with a case, soft or otherwise.

Received mine today as well. No seals anywhere, but looked immaculate and pristine. No signs of handling whatsoever.

I'm not sure I like the rubber focus ring, as it would be showing wear much sooner than the rest of the lens. I wish it were metal.

Focusing is indeed very smooth, though very hard to accomplish towards infinity, wide open. Nikon's Live View isn't of too much use due to line skipping. Definitely needs practice, but awesome sharpness and rendition overall. Very happy with it so far.

Needs a real focusing screen. Wonder what -stop the D screen is optimized for.

It focuses a little past infinity too.
