I have learned over the years that night time wildlife photography is often unrewarding....but every now and then something happens that just blows me away. After sourcing the zebra the leopard fed a bit but just walked away when a hyena approached. It sat about 15 feet or so away just watching and biding its time. After a little while it decided to join the hyena and feast. The two ultimate enemies sat face to face without any animosity and shared the kill. This is rarely seen behavior and we were fortunate to witness it. I have a bunch more images as well as video which I will share and I'm sure Tim's shots will just blow you all away.
BTW, Tim suggested shooting when the eyes were averted slightly to avoid the red/white eye....great idea and lack of eye contact didn't seem to detract much from the shot.
Eric

Looks marvelous to me Eric, I like how you warmed up the light, that works superbly. The look on the hyena is priceless, keeping an eye on the leopard for what I don't know! I haven't even touched this folder yet Excellent job photographing this scene, technically that WASN'T as easy as you are making it look.

The hyena looks a bit tentative, and the cat looks fully engrossed in the meal. Excellent capture.

Super shot mate, the Leopard looks like he hasn't got a care while the hyena isn't so sure. A great moment...Look forward to seeing more.

Amazing story Eric! Were there any other hyenas lurking, wanting to join in the feast?

Great shot Eric. I usually don't enjoy night shots very much and the zombie eyes are one part of it. This shot though works very well and I like it. Even better that it captured some rare behaviour. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful shot that really tells the story. The leopard looks more comfortable than the hyena. Even though there is no sign of animosity, the hyena still doesn't seem to trust completely the big cat

A great encounter to experience for sure Eric, excellent work.
Was this spot lit only or any flash comp used? Might just reduce the yellows from the spot lit for mine, no big deal.
Have also seen Hyena & Leopard co-operative feeding in Zambia, ................certainly isn't common.
