Excellent combination, Charles. I too have both the 810 and 750 as well as the XT-1 and XT-2 (with far too many lenses for both systems to list).

read my useless review here.

It's a great camera... just not $6500 great.

Got it. Well, 6 years ago, D3S costed about the same as D5 now right ? Back then, it was that $$ great I suppose. Now, if you buy D5, then think that the differential is the cost delta of new D3s vs D5, then it will be only a few hundred bucks difference. Ha ha, just a mind trick. Honestly, the difference between D5 and D3S can't be as big as $6500, but your D3S died on you right. Two things,
1. It may die on you again
2. Longer you wait, lower the resale of D3s will be.

On the other hand, your shots do not 'need' D5 to shine. You can go all the way with D3s and then change to whatever is right at the time you are getting new body.

Ha ha, mixed messages.

Luka

True, valid points.
I don't really care about resale value to be honest. The D5 will depreciate WAY faster at the same rate so it's worse if I upgrade right now.
Once the D5s comes out, i think it would be smart to buy the D5 then.

That would be smart. By then you would have really used D3s to the fullest and new gear will serve you long. When one can rationalize, there is no fever. I am sure there will be something else to distract you before that like 135/1.8 or something

28/58 getting ready.
58/105 photo session

If I have 3 cameras on me, I slap all 3 lenses and shoot all day.

Anything wider than the 28? I was thinking the 35/58 combo is a bit close and would have to limit the use of my sigma 35 which I do love. Is the 28 up to it?

I found 35 and 58 to be too close when I had it (and then sold all 4 35mm lenses!)

28's great, but the focus shift on my copy turned me off.

I personally like 24 and 58.
