Uuuhhg...the kiss of death! Say good bye to my dreams of a new and improved sensor, or a 7DII! Now I really have to get the new Sony, and spend yet more money on the adapter as well.

At least in my neck of the woods, it will not be a 'white' Christmas.

And we all should have known by now that Canon isn't in business to make photographers happy. They are there to make money. If releasing those will make them more money, nothing will stop them. Not that I take their side. It's just a fact...a sad one for us, photographers.

And Canon is not alone in this respect, and it's not only photography.

Name me a corporation that has your interests at heart, and I'll show you one owned by you.

This is what it's all about.

Since this should be Asian market, I'd expect it to be more like panda than zebra.

Or camel. Either conventional SLR with one hump or stereoscopic one with two humps.

Maybe a bit hasty. If it really was a mini 1D X and it had a brand new high DR sensor, then I'd see support at $2.5K for sure, but I can't see you going much beyond this as you get in to FF pricing and let's face it a 5D III except for fps, is a darn good impersonation of a mini 1D X.

That's a pretty big exception though if you are trying to be a mini 1DX.

Ah, now I get it. No wonder Canon has fallen behind in sensor technology...they should've been making multi-colored cameras a long time ago!

Can't wait the technological breakthroughs this white camera will lead to now that they've finally figured out how to generate money for R&D

Just buying the darn Sony EXMOR series and plug-into their cam then call them a platinum/gold series like Nikon. Save some head counts & hw development cost and lot of customers Easy battle for canon since they have always integrated cam system better.

Exactly right. Makes you wonder why people get so wrapped up in brand loyalties and defending their preferred companies' business choices

If so, it'll be the must have accessory at Sydney Mardi Gras.

What's this?

"EF 40mm f/2.8 STM Pancake in white lens option"

The 40mm in white will truly make it look like a pancake. Or an as yet unrolled condom.

Would be interesting to know the behind the scenes market analysis that went into making a white EOS body. I wonder if they were influenced at all by Apple and their multicolored 5C's and the gold 5S.

All that makes me paraphrase something....

I see a White Kiss and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want it to turn black
I see the Nikon walk by dressed in their retro clothes
I have to turn my head until my banding goes

I see a line of cameras and they're all painted black...
