Your work is killer Lisa!! I never wanted the 200mm (Nikon version) that bad before, but now...

Very nice work on these. I would love to offer my critique but I think they are perfect as they are.

Hi Lisa,
First of all, I love your photography. Personally I think you could achieve the same look with other lenses besides the 200L which I admit this lens is fantastic. I think most of us think your work is done because of the lens. Here's what I personally think is the secret to your work.
1. shooting wide open
2. all your shots seem to be taken very late in the afternoon - during sweet light just before the sun sets.
3. understanding the light - probably the most important.

I have looked at many portraits on this forum and none of them can hold a candle to your work. KEEP POSTING!!!
Respectfully,
David Miller

4. Big dollop of PhotoShop.

A lot of the "Lisa look" comes from her post processing, which I like a lot.

Flipping gorgeous from the young ladies, to the stunning locations, to the lighting you have mastered and to the clean processing style you have developed.

And I want to try #10 one time just to see if I can do it.

Oh and a question, were you standing on one leg or two when you shot these?

Hi Lisa - nice stuff as always.

Curious about #10 - how did you keep their hair so in-place while spinning? Were you going super slow with a relatively long shutter speed?

Wasn't sure if that was a still photo with a radial blur applied to the background?

Thank you again guys!

@ESC - we weren't spinning as fast as this photo would make you believe. We were definitely spinning (my husband was spinning us and I had to PS his hand and arm out of the pic on the far right rail). My SS was 1/20 so we just had to be moving to get the motion blur. I had to take several shots to get a few in focus. It was definitely fun (and a bit nauseating trying to take a pic while being spun). lol

Thank you! Mitch - get it! Worth every penny. It's my absolute favorite now. And a huge bonus for me is that I can shoot it wide open even in high contrast situations and get zero chromatic aberration. That is one problem that has made me leery of using my other primes. Shooting wide open with my 85L and 50L tends to = a ton of magenta and green fringing (which I hate and it takes forever to fix).

I would second this. I love my 85L, but cringe using it with heavy back lighting, as the purple nastiness explodes on every edge. I love 1.2, but hate not being able to use it for every scenario.

Great shots by the way. Every time my wife comes across your posts, she asks when we can buy the 200L.
