Pretty cute that in the one picture after he has landed, and the bull is still right there by him but he appears to be checking out one of his cameras instead of getting the h-- out of there. Probably exactly what I would have done as well.

He's learnt his lesson, huh? Keep your eye on the bull and always have an exit - when I have been in the ring the rodeo clowns have always said choose a spot on the fence as yours.

It looks as if he was too casual - pushing for a great shot by standing too far from the fence. When doing you this you have to watch what others in the ring are doing, when they run for the fence, get moving!

At least he has some record of it!

Looks like that 17-40 (or 16-35?) is going to need a little TLC

I know when a running back gets shoved out of bounds, I tuck and roll protecting camera before body. Probably not to bright but bodies heal, cameras don't.

Glad the man in question is okay, but he was waaay to far out in the arena for the bull to have caught him like that. If you ever shoot rodeo and don't know much about it, stay by the fence. There's a reason all those tough cowboys leap up it every time a bull comes their way. That 16-35 is probably not feeling too good right now.

A new camera can be bought, a new body cannot

Can't argue with either but sometimes, in a brief fraction of a second, instinct simply takes over.
